Day 79 - This Is Not A Cooking Blog

September 29, 2009

Exercise
5.36 mile run

Hopefully, today was our last "Summer" run.
It was 100 degrees today and the forecast for tomorrow is 76 and breezy!
Yay!

Breakfast
V-8
x2

Lunch
BBQ Hamburger
Tomatoes
Sandwich Thin
Chips

We went to our favorite store today, the International Marketplace.
You can find just about any ethnic food you could possibly need,
and it's cheap too!

These ingredients, along with about .45 cents worth of the bok choy, will become my soup.

Their shrimp is always incredibly fresh and the large ones are $5.99 a pound.
I sauteed it with chili oil and sesame oil with a bit of "rooster sauce".

Viola!

Dinner
Asian Noodle Soup W/
Spicy Shrimp

Day 78 - I Wish I Still Smoked

September 28, 2009

Exercise
P90X - Chest and Back

I was watching Mad Men last night and thought about how cool it would be to go on the
Betty Draper diet.
Cigarettes and melba toast! Sign me up!
Betty would not be caught dead sweating out a P90X workout,
in fact, I doubt Betty knows how to sweat.
Well, maybe Don made her sweat once, but no more.
Poor Betty.

Day 75 - Somebody's Lying

September 25, 2009

Exercise
5.4
or
5.7
mile run

After running with the dogs I came in the house and ran on the treadmill.
When I started my iPhone pedometer read 4.7 miles.
After exactly 1 mile on the treadmill it read 5.4 miles.
I tend to trust the treadmill over the iPhone,
so does that mean I've been running even more than I thought I was?
Or, is the iPhone accurate at my slower street speed?
More importantly, do I care?
Hmmmmm...

Scrambled Egg

Day 74 - Not Today

September 24, 2009

Exercise
Ran around the park with the dogs.

I had no intention of exercising today.
I'm tired and cranky and my hair looks awesome,
so there was no way I was going to ruin it by sweating.
Went to Costco and did some other stuff around the house instead.

Low-Fat Granola
1% Milk

Day 73 - Do I Have To Spell It Out For You?

September 23, 2009

Exercise
5.26 mile run

I just realized that I forgot to weigh in on Monday. That is not such a bad thing, considering what time of the month it is. No, not THAT time, the time before that time. I retain so much water before my period that I am miserable. My boobs swell, my feet and fingers swell so much that my shoes and rings are tight. And don't even ask me about the different bra sizes I have to buy to accommodate my girls at different times of the month. I may be the only woman I know that looks forward to her period starting.

Breakfast
Scrambled Eggs
Potatoes

Lunch
Caesar Salad
Grilled Trout
Baked Potato
Broccoli
Biscuit
(We went to Red Lobster and I was HUNGRY!)

Dinner
Spaghetti and Meatballs
Bread

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Day 72 - Shagadellic

September 22, 2009

Exercise
Ran around the park with the dogs.

I kept my promise and did not work out - running around with the dogs doesn't really count.

My husband sells real estate and I went with him to look at some 'vintage' Las Vegas homes in the neighborhood where Robert DeNiro and Sharon Stone lived in the movie Casino.
Talk about a blast from the past. Do you remember mirrored wallpaper? Wood paneling? Shag carpet? These homes had it all in spades. I loved every one of them.
And the Casino house? It's for rent!

Breakfast
Boiled Egg
V-8

Lunch
Salad w/
Skirt Steak
Tomatoes
3 Bean Salad
Feta
Fat-Free Dressing

Snack
Low-Fat Granola
1% Milk

Dinner

Day 71 - Every Mile A Misery

September 21, 2009

Exercise
3.68 mile run

I didn't plan on exercising today, but the dogs play date was cancelled and they need their exercise no matter what, so I did.
I made it nearly 4 miles and they were satisfied,
but I was so tired, sore and burned out that it was a miserable experience for me.
I think one of the reasons people give up on their exercise programs
is that they feel just like I did today and they give up.
This was just one day
-a day that I knew I pushing myself too hard-
so I'll take a day and just do things that I enjoy and get back in the game when I am rested.

Breakfast
Refried Beans

Lunch
Steamed Fish
Spinach
Tomatoes

Snack
Low-Fat Granola
1% Milk

Dinner
Lentil, Potato and Spinach Soup

Monday, September 21, 2009

Day 70 - Day Of Rest...Not

September 20, 2009

Exercise
3.4 mile walk

It was ridiculously hot for the end of September.
I just walked the dogs and they were just as hot and tired when we got home as if we had run.
I was just trying to take it easy and not do much but, that never works for me, so I cleaned the pool and did a bunch of laundry and chores-so much for my day of rest.

Breakfast
Bean Burrito

Lunch
Leftovers From Last Night

Snack
Wasa Crackers
Cheese
Pickle

Dinner
Grilled Pork Chop
Baked Potato
Cheese Sauce
Strawberries

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Day 69 - Heatwave

September 19, 2009

Exercise
3.66 mile run

After a relatively pleasant week, the heat is back with a vengeance this weekend.
We got out of the house before 8:00 but it was already hot and will be hotter tomorrow.
Ugh, can't take much more of this.

Breakfast
Huevos Frijoles
My version of heuvos rancheros.

Lunch
Salad
Roast Beef
Tomatoes
Avocado
Lite Blue Cheese
Snack
Chicken
Didn't eat much of it because it was way over-seasoned.

Dinner
Stir-Fried Skirt Steak
Bok Choy
Rice

Give me mexican food or asian food and I'm happy.
I'll eat them everyday if I have to, or even if I don't.

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Day 68 - Something Fishy

September 18, 2009

Exercise
5.32 mile run

Breakfast
2 Scrambled Eggs

Lunch?

I went to work with the husband for a while and he paid me in sushi.
I don't like whipping out the camera in restaurants unless it's inconspicuous,
not the case at a busy sushi bar.
We shared 3 rolls, I'm sure it wasn't dietetic, but it was tasty.

Snack
Doritos x 2

Dinner
Tostada x 2

Friday, September 18, 2009

Day 67 - Hard Core

September 17, 2009

Exercise
P90X - Core Synergystics

Oh my, it's been a while since I've done Core Syn. and boy did I sweat!
I forgot what a hard core workout it is.
Push-ups, lunges, squats and weights; my ass ached all day and night.
In a good way!

Breakfast
Low-Fat Granola

Lunch
Lean Cuisine Panini
Leftover Salad

Snack
Wasa Crackers
Roast Beef
Pickle

Dinner
Mushroom Chicken
Pasta

I made my mushroom sauce with fat-free half and half. It was thin, but good.

Dessert
Baked Apple
