Day 18 - Much Needed Rest

Exercise
Ran around the park with the dogs.

Skipped working out today. I was pretty sore from the last couple workouts,
so a day of rest was in order.

I ate those three and two more.
They were so good I couldn't even feel guilty about the wontons.

Day 17 - Let Her Eat Cake

Exercise
30 Minute Express - Total Body

Took Daisy and Dude to the park to play then came and wanted a quick workout so I got out this old dvd workout. It's a little dated looking with the ladies in their matching aerobics outfits, but it is killer little workout. I had to put down my weights a couple times to be able to get through the one minute sequence. I was drenched in sweat when it was over, so mission accomplished.

Day 16 - I'm Strong To The Finich....

P90X - Shoulders and Arms
Treadmill run - 1 mile 10:04

I try to jog as much as possible when I am out with the dogs, but it is just so hot that it seems cruel to make them run too much. Yesterday I made them stand in some sprinklers to cool them and then we ran all the way home, maybe a mile.
I did the treadmill mile in 2 minute sprints between P90X sets. I'm feeling it today.

I'm a little disappointed, but not surprised, I knew that burger and a few extra drinks had to go somewhere. Just gives me more motivation to try harder next week.

After going out and visiting with Mr. Daniels the night before,

All kidding about Mr. Daniels aside, it is important to take a day of rest after a hard week of working out. It gives your body a chance to recharge and recover so that you don't get exhausted and burned out.

Day 13 - She's A Fattie*

I put all I had into Ab Ripper today and I still could not make it all the way through the "Mason Twist" at the end. I just could not breathe and twist at the same time.

*Went to a songwriters showcase last night. It was four Nashville songwriters telling stories and singing their songs. One of them, Bobby Pinson, wrote She's A Hottie for Toby Keith. He sang the song and then told a story about how Toby's people thought maybe the song would alienate some women, so he wrote another version for them called She's A Fattie. Absolutely hysterical.

Day 12 - Humidity Is Evil

P90X - Core Synergistics

Took the dogs to the dog park to play with their friend Lucky, she is the only dog I can trust them to play nice with. They consider her to be one of their pack.
We desert dwellers are not used to much humidity, so when we get a little bit in the summer it kills us. Just standing around watching the dogs play was unbearable, I was soaked in sweat.
Being so nice and sweaty, I dove right into Core Syn. when I got home. I love that workout. You could do a few of those moves and feel like you had a complete workout. Lunge and Reach, Prison Push-Ups and Lunge-Kickback-Curl-Press are the real butt-kickers - love those.

I set my goal at 36 minutes, so I'm pretty happy about that time. With a little warm up time I was at an 11 minute pace for most of it. 410 calories burned.

Day 10 - Peachy

I was so sore from the chest and back workout that I could barely get through ab ripper. All those push-ups really kicked my ass. No pain, no gain, I guess.

The lentil soup was great, I could have eaten the whole can and had only 300 calories, but I only ate half. I cooked the sausage and then squeezed out as much fat as I could and added it to the soup for a little flavor, yummy.
