Days 108, 109, 110

October 28, 29, 30, 2009

Only checking in to write that I am still sick with an upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis.
And, let me tell you, there is nothing more attractive than a woman with eyes that are beet red and oozing green puss.
So, basically, my life sucks right now.

Happy Birthday to me.

I thought I was feeling better on Friday so I took the dogs for a

4 mile walk
and did
P90X - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps.

It seemed like a good idea at the time,
but I was completely exhausted the rest of the day and night.

Hopefully. I'll be back on track on Monday.

I'll leave you with a couple pictures I too k with my iPhone on a sunrise run a couple weeks ago.
Ah, memories.

Day 106 - My Pictures Suck

October 27, 2009

Exercise
4.7 mile walk
P90X - Arms & Shoulders

Still plagued by a nagging headache and sore throat,
but I refuse to let it get me down.
Had a nice walk with the dogs and did P90X in pure defiance of my misery.

I swear, my pictures just get worse and worse.
Today's batch is blurry and not very well composed.
I think it is because I don't like making a big production of it while my family is sitting there with me, rolling their eyes at each other,
like "there she goes again".
So, I just whip out the point and shoot and try to get it over with as fast as I can.
Oh well, nobody reads this blog anyway, but if someone does stumble by,
I apologize for the awful pictures and even worse commentary.

Refried Beans w/ Cheese
(My favorite.)

Lunch
Progresso Italian Wedding Soup
Pear (no pic)

Snack
Rye Crackers
Swiss Cheese

Day 104 - Sunday Is A Day Of Rest

October 25, 2009

Exercise
2.25 mile walk

Just as I predicted, no workout today.
Not because I am sore or tired though.
I really don't feel too well.
I was blaming my upset stomach on the ham I ate at breakfast,
now, (as I write this on Monday) I'm not so sure.

Breakfast
Toast
Egg
Slice Ham

Lunch
Progresso Barley Beef Soup

Snack
Pear

Dinner
American Sheppard Pie
(Google it, it's good.)

Sunday, October 25, 2009

Day 103 -

October 24, 2009

Exercise
6 mile run

It was a little hotter than I expected, so I was really wiped out after my run.
I suppose the fact that I did not sleep well had something to do with it also.
I took a 45 minute nap after lunch,
but still felt kind of out of it the rest of the day.
Sunday will be a day of rest.
(I have pre-cognition, so I know these things.)

Breakfast
Egg Taco

Lunch
Cheeseburger
Pickle

We almost always go to the butcher on Saturdays, so a burger is almost a forgone conclusion.
See, that pre-cognition thing really works for me.

Snack
Rye Crackers
Swiss Cheese

Dinner
BBQ Pork Chop
Roasted Artichoke

Saturday, October 24, 2009

Day 101 - On The Road Again

October 22, 2009

Exercise
5 mile run

My test runs at the park on the soft grass went well,
so even though I haven't bought new shoes yet,
I decided to give a real run a shot.
It was good, I had a little soreness that worked itself out as I warmed up and I felt fine afterwards too. I think I was just overworked and needed a long (10 days, I think) rest.
And, as a bonus, the dogs slept all day and night afterwards.

Breakfast
Scrambled Eggs

Lunch
Pastrami and Swiss
Chips
(Shared the chips with the dogs.)

Dinner
Steak
Baked Potato
Light Sour Cream

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Day 100 - Hungry

October 21, 2009

Exercise
Ran 1.25 miles at the park with the dogs.

I remembered to turn on my pedometer and was pleased to see we ran so far with seemingly little effort. It is fun to run around with the dogs and watch them wrestle and play.
Some days they seem to be more into wrestling (like today)
some days are all about running and playing tag,
other days they gravitate to the play equipment and climb around and slide down the slides.
They can be such clowns that my friend and I are always entertained.

Breakfast
Steak and Eggs
Toast

I woke up today hungry and craving a big protein-filled breakfast.
This farmer-style feast was just the ticket and I don't regret it in the least.
If I had some potatoes it would have been perfect.

Lunch
Lean Cuisine Chicken Parmesan

Snack
Apple

Snack
Fritos

Dinner
BBQ Chicken
Spaghetti Squash
Salad

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Day 99 - Hard "Core"

October 20, 2009

Exercise
4 mile walk
P90X - Core Synergistics

Core Syn kicked my but today! It was in a good way though.
Lunges, squats and push-ups all combined with weights.
My muscles are crying as write. But in a good way!

Breakfast
V-8

Lunch
Progresso Italian Wedding Soup
And some reading material to chew on.

Snack
Doritos

Snack
Boiled Egg
This was actually before the chips,
but who am I to argue with Blogger?

Dinner
Mongolian Beef
Steamed Rice

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Day 98 - Bland

October 19, 2009

Exercise
Ran with the dogs at the park.

I ran around in the grass as much as I could with Daisy.
I figured the grass was much softer and more forgiving than the sidewalks.
I probably got 2 miles in.
Next time I'll have to remember to turn on the pedometer
in my iPhone to give myself a better idea.
Not that I'm obsessed or anything.
My diet today was just bland. Blah. Boring.
My husband wanted fried shrimp for dinner and I was going to make something else for myself, but after all that prep for the shrimp I did not feel like it. Oh well.
It was good, but boring. I don't know why he loves it so much.

Breakfast
V-8
Egg
Crackers

Lunch
Chicken Breast
Potato Salad

Snack
Apple
Crackers

Dinner
Fried Shrimp
French Fries

Monday, October 19, 2009

Day 97 -

October 18, 2009

Exercise
4 mile walk
P90X - Core Synergistics

I hate not being able to take a simple run and walking was not much better.
It was nice to walk with my husband
(and to have an extra hand with the mutts)
butI ended up with a huge blister on my heel.
What the hell? Can't catch a break. UGH.
Core Syn. was good though, worked out some of my frustrations with lunges and push-ups.

Diet-wise, I just realized I ate six freaking times yesterday,
at least they were small meals.

Breakfast
V-8
Refried Beans

I never buy canned refried beans, they are so gross.
I buy plain canned pinto beans and mash them myself.

Snack
Potato Salad

Lunch
Chicken Noodle Soup

Picked it up at the butcher/deli-very tasty.

Snack
Apple
Crackers

Snack
Doritos

Dinner
BBQ Brisket Sandwich
(Did not even touch the potato.)

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Day 96 - I Blame The Shoes

October 17, 2009

Exercise
2.8 mile jog/walk
P90X - Shoulders, Chest and Triceps

I am still vexed my lower leg/ankle pain when I am running.
Even after several days off I was limping from the get go.
I blame my shoes.
I'll be just walking and doing other workouts until
I can afford to get a better pair of shoes from a real running store where I can be professionally fitted.
Probably not until the end of the month,
I'll make them a birthday present to myself.

Breakfast
Scrambled Egg
Toast

Lunch
BBQ Cheeseburger

Dinner
BBQ Ribs
Potato Salad

My husband is on a BBQ kick this weekend. The weather is great so why not?
And of course I don't have to cook. Yay!

Day 95 - Recovered

October 16, 2009

Exercise
Not much.

I'm feeling much better after my lost day yesterday.
I took the dogs to the park and ran around a bit,
but I really felt too depleted to do much strenuous exercise.

Breakfast
Refried Beans
Cheese

Yes, the woman with food poisoning chose beans as her first meal after being sick all night and day. I can't help it. I'm from Southern California and refried beans are like comfort food to me.
Lunch
Salad w/
Lettuce
Tuna
Tomatoes
Capers
Mayo

Maybe not a great choice, but the hubby wanted a tuna sandwich, so I went with the flow.

Snack
Apple
Rye Crackers

Yummy

Dinner
BBQ Chicken
Caesar Salad
